Richard Hescox is an illustrator and gallery artist whose ability to render scenes of wonder in an enhanced naturalistic style, that subverts the observer’s inherent disbelief, has led to his success as a book illustrator, a motion picture advertising artist and as a concept artist in the gaming industry. His narrative paintings serve as a gateway for a viewer’s imagination to follow the story far beyond the image depicted.

 When creating his personal works Richard explores worlds of Symbolism and Allegory that often create a haunting mood that can touch the viewer’s subconscious.  Such paintings populate his various series projects such as “The Land of the Mists”, “Water Spirits” and “Spell Casters”.

Featured in 14 volumes of Spectrum, some of Richard’s clients include, Marvel Comics, Microsoft Games Division, Universal Pictures, Subterranean Press and most book publishers.

All artwork is shipped unframed. Shipping fees are in addition to the prices listed and I can provide shipping quotes as requested.  Prints are shipped inside the U.S. for a flat fee of $10.00 for any number of prints combined.  My Sketch Book is shipped inside the U.S. for a flat fee of $5.00.

Although I am open to most ideas, it is best if the image you would like matches my style and subject matter.  In addition I am always doing new sketches of Ideas I want to paint up, and I can share some of these with you as inspiration for your own ideas or as images you might like to commission.
